Charming 1920s Omega Cushion Case, a testament to the origins of the men’s wristwatch. The distinctive 925 silver cushion case with fixed wire lugs encloses an elegant white enamel dial with large Arabic numerals, chemin de fer minute track and small seconds at 6 o’clock. A piece of great historic charm, enriched by antique Swiss hallmarks still clearly visible on the case back.

  • Brand: Omega
  • Model: Cushion Case
  • Period: 1919
  • Movement: Omega hand-wound mechanical
  • Movement serial number: 5570556
  • Case: 925 silver case with fixed lugs, featuring the characteristic square geometric shape with softened, domed corners typical of the Art Déco period, with the number 62 engraved at the overlapping corners.
  • Case reference: : 6343108. The fact that it is engraved on the outer side of the case back (rather than inside, as became customary later) is typical of Omega watches from that very earliest transitional period.
  • Case diameter: 34 mm
  • Dial:  The dial is a classic pure-white original enamel dial, highly prized by collectors because it does not fade and keeps its glossy finish unchanged over the decades.
  • Strap: Leather / Crocodile
  • Buckle: Generic
  • Crown: Generic
  • Condition: Used
  • Hallmarks: Omega mark,  the ancient Swiss rampant-bear punch, officially used in Switzerland until 1933 to authenticate silver artefacts for the domestic and export markets, is clearly visible.
  • Lugs: The upper and lower lugs are small thin metal loops soldered directly to the case. They do not use classic modern spring bars; for this reason, the strap must be of the open type, with tabs folded and glued or sewn around the fixed bar.
  • Indices: large black Arabic numerals
  • Minute track: peripheral chemin de fer
  • Small seconds: counter at 6 o’clock
