• Notes: This watch was created just after the famous “Quartz Revolution” (begun by Seiko itself in 1969). In the early 1980s, owning a quartz watch did not mean owning an inexpensive object — quite the opposite: it was the pinnacle of technology, precision, and status. The square “Tank” design with exposed screws on the bezel reflects the geometric, industrial style of that decade, made famous by icons of fine Swiss watchmaking.
